“SEPLA NSW is the professional association that supports leaders, educators and support staff working in the NSW public schools in the field of special education. Our association includes principals of schools for specific purpose (SSPs), deputy principals, assistant principals and head teachers leading in schools and support units across the state. SEPLA is an affiliate of the national peak body, Australian Special Education Principals’ Assocation (ASEPA). Each year, SEPLA hosts a multi-day professional learning conference. For over 12 years, GEMS Event Management Australia has managed these conference events for us, in collaboration with a conference committee of busy principals.
GEMS grew our conference from 500 delegates in 2018 to over 1400 delegates in 2019. We are aiming at 1500 delegates in 2021 as we plan for our joint SEPLA-ASEPA National Conference at the ICC in Sydney. The growth in delegate numbers has increased our capacity to attract world-class speakers. The SEPLA Conference is an outstanding event.
